Give thanks.

Be that im in middle America and this nothing better to do today, I took some time to think about the things that I am grateful for. it really hits you that this is the one day of the year that we are thankful for what we have in our lives, when we should do it everyday.

I'm not going to get all preachy in this writing, but just know, it's good to look at what we do have in our lives.

Missing my girls big time. I love them so much, thankfully the wifester has been posting pics of the wee one all day so that helps. it's gonna be an awesome December, and I can't wait to show the little one more list. We went to lowes last week and walked around the christmas stuff, she was just in awe of all the lights and what not. This kind of stuff is just so awesome, her seeing all these things and it being all so new. I am so thankful that the wifester is with her everyday, it makes it easier to be at work knowing she is getting the best care possible, and that way the wifester can share all the new things she does everyday.

Blessed in this life I have been. Amazing wife, beautiful healthy daughter, awesome family, neurotic dog, great job, and on and on and on.

Pin it to win it team. Win life.

Weekend Recap

This past weekend was one that I absolutely loved. I was able to stay home the entire time with my girls. We started off with the Aggie win on Friday night against that school to the south. Love seeing my boys in blue put it together to shut that team down. Lil miss Mae loves the games. Anytime the music starts, whether it be over the PA or the band she goes to work dancing and living it up. I truly cherish these moments.

Saturday was a day full of plans to bail on due to shitty weather. I had visions of raking leaves, climbing onto my roof and hanging christmas lights, and other nonsense, however, I live in little Alaska and the snow had other plans. Instead we spent a good portion of the day driving around from store to store looking for things to buy. We ended up with socks for the three of us. We live large. Had dinner and then went and saw Immortals. Pretty cool blood and guts. Man things!

Sunday was a dad and daughter day as the wifester was working away to bring home the bacon. We played in the mancave pretty much all day long. The lil one has been fighting a cold for the past couple of days, so she has been in better moods, but none the less, love spending one on one time with her.

I have been thinking alot about racing and how I want to be when it comes to a father/husband/racer. Its a tough juggle, and sometimes I am losing. I dont want to be a dead beat dad, or a non existent husband, nor do I feel like my work is finished on the bike. I just have to find a balance. I will find it soon enough, this I know. I am so lucky to have the wife and kid that I do. I am the person I am because of them. We are a team, and they push me to be the very best every day. I think at all the effort that I put into this racing, and know that without the wifester behind me, none of it would be possible. I was watching a video on MX racer Kevin Windham, and he has found the balance between his worlds, and motivated me to be better. Its all about influences.

Well got this picture sent to me last weekend. This was from the Great Salt Lake nationals. If you could only see what was going on in my head. Pissed/hurt/sad/tons of other emotion, but none the less I shook it off and finished my lap hard. Because that is what we do, we get up, and keep going. We dont quit.
