random thoughts
I guess my thoughts are not totally random when they are generally consumed with thoughts of my brother. I miss him terribly, and hope one day that he can get on track. Some things lately have caught my attention and have made me realize that I cannot take for granted what we all have everyday, and that is each other. It is too easy for us to just not take a few moments out of our day to call one another and say hello, things can change in an instant, and then what would we do? Say, "Oh I was going to call him, or I was going to stop by but was too busy" Thats flat out B.S.! I am quite often caught up in "jonas world" and dont like to come out for fear of the real world, but I can no longer live like that.
So when I call or write just to say hello, just know Im saying hi cause I care. Do you?

Thanks
Next time you're sitting there feeling sorry for yourself, maybe thinking how there is nothing good on TV, or you cant decide what fast food to eat, take a step back and think. If it were not for our veterans and the men and women of our military, we would be complaining about legitimate nightmares. Thanks goes out to those that have served us and continue to protect the freedoms we all take for granted every single day.(Jared, we will never be able to know exactly what you do, but Im sure those that do, will always remember. DO WORK SON!)

I need a vacation from vacation
MOAB 09 POOR MANS GUY TRIP
The three amigos rolled into Moab at 10:30 friday night. And when the night starts off with Snoop Doggs "gin and juice" you know you're in for treat of a weekend. The plan: Have as much fun as possible, make new friends, and not get arrested.
memorable quotes:
"If you dont make me cry Im gonna be f'n pissed" -wimpy
"its time to make this night regretable"- tanner
"thats why I didnt drink last night, I didnt want to get pregnant" -haggard lady @liquor store
"Im gonna take her back to the room and tell her that I knew a stripper in dallas that looked just like her"-wimpy(chances are, Von is better than you on a bike)
"I dont date moms with kids just wives"-wimpy"TWO WORDS......WEIGHT WATCHERS!"-tanner to some unpleasants in a car at maverick
"That f'n matador doesnt even have a cape" -tanner
some highlights:
being nicknamed the three amigos 45 minutes after check in by the entire bar staff.
Kareoke, lots of kareoke. which included, gin and juice, american pie, paradise by the dashboard light, some bob segar song, LOLA, which turned out to be kala dedicated to a lady in the bar per request of her boyfriend(he had no idea what this song was about), and you've lost that love and feeling which was a quintet.(this was my superman seatgrab to no footed can can seat grab SICK!)
Me crashing and making everyone laugh at the jumping competitionOur ridiculous halloween costumes. I am just getting back to normal after fitting into a wet suit made for a ten year old girl.(this is my leg, my arms didnt return to normal for about ten hours after the fact)
Tanner dancing up on a real cop, wimpy and I acted like we didnt know him at this point.
Von winning the dirt jump comp, my absolute favorite rider in the world.
too many to remember, Im so beat and I was the sober one. thanks fellas!

The weekend
This last weekend was a great one. started out Friday night with some semi pro hockey. Slept in a bit saturday, inevitably to leave the house to go on a fire in ogden. At this house in ogden wimpy and I found naughty magazines from the early 1900's, well not that old, but they were old.
Nice dinner with the wifester at Elements, hands down the best place to grub in Logan!
Then I put the wife and dog to bed and went to a Movie with the fellas. HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!!!!! If you havent seen Zombieland yet, you havent lived. So funny.
Sunday, slept in some more, trained for the jumping comp by watching some videos. Then made stroganoff for family dinner, followed by another movie, Riding Giants. I love my life.

tired.............
Thankfully its friday, because this is how I feel.
I dont know, maybe it was the marathon, or maybe Im just old. Anyhow, after last nights massive failure at flag football, I realize my body needs to recuperate after running the marathon.
That means if anyone needs me, I will be in the man cave. love the mancave!

upside down and inside out
I am so not prepared for the cold weather. Sure I am tired of being hot all the time, but seriously, 2 days ago it was ninety. ITS FREAKIN SNOWING TODAY. UGH.
This week has been pretty rough so far, started out monday with no voice. Tuesday, had a voice, and a crankin headache to accompany it. Last night I slept on the couch, and woke up hating the world.
Tomorrow is Thursday, we leave for Salt Lake tomorrow night, and then to St. George on Friday, to run the marathon on Saturday. Did you know that the first person to ever run a marathon died. I just might join him sooner rather than later. So for a point of view that isnt negative, thats only three more days til I never have to run again, EVER!
Talked to some friends down south at the lake, sounds like things there suck. Sorry about that team, but I know that the remaining people that are there will kill it.
Life is pretty mellow right now, I like this whole taper down week, yessir I do.
Its official, winter is upon us. Do you know what that means. Yes it means snowboarding! It also means indoor BMX season. I love the indoor season, gives us hooligans a place to do what we do in the winter.
most random post ever.

And remember we will!
Do you remember where you were eight years ago this day? I sure do. I remember the repeated phone calls from my dad that awoke me from a deep class skipping sleep. He told me to turn on the TV, and watch the news. Every channel was news, every channel was the same thing, a scene of horror, a scene of tragedy, and a scene of war in our own backyard.I love our country, I love what we stand for, and I love our brothers and sisters fighting to keep this from happening again. To all my boys, I just want you to know that we appreciate the gigantic sacrifices that you have given to protect us from such heinous acts. We will always remember what happened early in the morning September 11th 2001, and we will always remember those that have given it all.

My new go fast
Here is the latest addition to the go fasts of the Harmon household. This will be the new way of punishing myself for training and enjoyment after the marathon, I cant wait. For those of that dont know, as of this post there is only 28 days and 21 hours until I never ever have to run again, EVER. Thank the maker!
This is the full carbon Pinarello FP3, not too shabby for a BMXer.

I found Hell, its in Wyoming.
The start of this week was rather interesting. I had the opportunity to go to a little place called Wamsutter Wyoming, and when I say little it was little! I got the call to go up there last week for a hazardous waste cleanup, super, just what I like to do, clean up the nasty crap of the earth, too bad I couldnt just bomb this poor excuse of a zip code. Lets just say I slept fully clothed, with shoes and socks, there were human feces under the dresser in the room, and I had to block the door with a chair because the doorknob didnt lock. The things we do.
I did ride the Evanston skatepark though, Ill be back there to do that for sure. no pics of that but here are some of the rest of the journey.
Loves treated me well with plenty of fresh coffee, my ghetto room scared me to death, and it rained on my equipment. Would I do it again? HECK YEAH! I love my life.

If I ever leave this world behind...........
"Hello my name is Jonas and I am addicted to life and coffee."
There I said it. As I sit and write this, Devin is outside enjoying some sun, jib is on the porch catchin some shade, and life is great. Tomorrow The Devster and myself celebrate our 3 year anniversary, which is I think somewhere around 150 in husband years, but whose
counting? This occasion has made me think back a bit and take a look at what I have for a life and how great it is, contrary to the haters beliefs.
I have been blessed with a great family, friends, animals, and some rather corky talents. All of which I am greatly appreciative. A quick thanks to those that I consider my support system, thanks for letting me do whatever the hell I want and get away with it.
The Doc told me last week that I need to "slow down." I looked him in the face and said, "thats not me, I cant live like that."
Now sure
I may limp alot, and have some pain, but I wouldnt have it any o
ther way. Devin pushes me through the pain, and I couldnt ask for anything more. Yes I may deserve the hellish fat foot/ankle that I have right now, but if I had a wife that babied me, I would probably go crazy and be fat too. This marathon stuff however, is over in 42 days! THANK GOD!
Last night someone called me an adult, I laughed at them. Nah, I am a person that will forever retain the spirit of youth. Yes I pay my bills, have a house as of next week. I go to work everyday, I pay my taxes, and I drink coffee (I have drank coffee since I was born I think). But I refuse to grow up, all of the previously mentioned responsibilities only allow me to be the kid that I am. I work hard, so I can play harder.
Anyway, I have rambled long enough. so the first picture is from our first year of dating, what the hell was I thinking with that hair? who knows, but she loved me no matter what, and Devster I love you more than anything, thanks for being you and letting me be me. You are the most awesome wife ever, and thank the good lord for t
here being no charge for awesomeness, cause I would have to rob my moms bank to be able to afford you. (I could get away with it)

Lets take a vote
For those few that read my blog, tell me if Jib should get a brother.
Keep in mind that Jib already runs the house and does what he wants.
And if your vote sucks I will erase it, so make a valid argument. I may publicly ridicule those for stupid remarks.

YES!
I LOVE THIS PHOTO AND YOU SHOULD TOO!
So I know I have been slacking on the posts, and I finally got rid of the backdrop that made my page a bit pesky so at least thats good. Nothing new to report really, well except that were buying a house in Logan, running still sucks, and my dog is a floozy.
As of late I have been putting alot of thought into my company, and here is my declaration. Its on like donkey kong! I am tired of always thinking about doing it, so I am done being a slacker and I am actually going to do it. Its going to be a small operation at first, but just stay tuned, I promise you wont be dissapointed.
Oh and on a side note, the lip to the ramp is finished, off to paint this week. I will have a picture up tomorrow of the lip. This could be trouble, and I like it.

The finshed product
So this is the finished product of the bomb. I am pretty happy with how it turned out.
Also this last weekend was quite eventful. It happened to be the Great Salt Lake nationals, held at my stomping ground Rad Canyon in west Jordan. I was pretty excited to race, even though with my shoulder injury lingering, I had made the decision to race last week. Saturday was a good day, I pulled a solid second on my cruiser, and in class, well, that was a different story and really did'nt try and pulled a seventh.
Sunday was a new day, I have been known to do better on sundays. I think it is because I am tired on sundays and dont get as wound up. Well I pulled total points in my cruiser, which basically meant I had to win every moto to get the first place, well I did just that. In my regular class, we had two groups, and so qualifying was to terrible, thanks to a guy that got all mad and left, so we essentially had a boat ride into the main. The main for that class came up and I felt good, had a great start in the middle of the pack and pulled right after my second and third pedal. I could see the competition shadows dissapear and that gave me the confidence to just get out and ride my race. So I doubled on sunday, for the first time in history of Me. Two first later, somebody is going to have some killer ping pong trophies when they show up to my casa. Thanks for all the support.
I am serious when I say I have the biggest group of supporters out at the track. Thanks to everyone. Now if I can get some sleep I can train for the marathon, but its not my fault.

THE BOMB
I love my job, everyday presents a new opportunity. On this fine monday, I got to work on our bomb for the shop. Its sort of like my side project but its going to be cool when its done. I like bombs that blow up too, but I am more of a sparkler bomb type of guy, little less death involved with those.

weekend
Oh how I am so stoked for this weekend. This is the question I asked myself and the answer I gave, also to myself.
What are you doing this weekend Jonas?
Well Jonas, I was thinking about taking up drinking, getting real tossed and then dressing up like a commercial airline pilot and walking around the airport.
Yup, thankfully its friday and I dont drink.

Me vs. domestication
So moving into a brand new house has posed many opportunities for me to throw tools, mirrors, and anything else that I have in or around my hands. ( but I didnt!)
Why is putting new things up so frustrating, I think it may be from a lack of skill, but also my A.D.D. kicks in and I get bored easy. I also believe it is because I only have two hands, and Devin is so short. If I was rich I would hire this guy and we would get stuff done!
Anyhow, if you need help with your new house, dont call me, unless you buy me coffee!

The week in a nutshell
A series of events this week has left me with the following:
Only six miles ran out of six days.
Collectively six hours of sleep.
A job that will leave me with memories that I never wanted.
A second cell phone to help field the numerous calls. (oh boy!)
A wife that questions if I still remember her name.
A dog that is utterly confused.
A new burning love for a bullet bike that I will never own
And only two goals in an onslaught of a hockey game.
With all this in mind, all I ask is, could someone buy me a freakin cup of coffee?
